  admissions requirements

Individuals applying for admission must submit an application ($50 non-refundable fee), three letters of recommendation and an essay.

Applicants of the Eastern School of Acupuncture are required to have at least 60 college credits, (above and beyond the pre- and co- requisite biosciences listed below) and must submit official transcripts from the institution(s) of higher learning that they attended, along with copies of professional licenses if applicable. Although New Jersey residents may take our program with only 60 college credits, please note that the State of New Jersey requires that graduates also have a Bachelor's Degree before licensure.

Required biosciences include 4 credits in biology as a pre-requisite to admissions. An additional 11 credits in other Biosciences ( 8 anatomy and physiology, 3 in biology, psychology, chemistry, physics or nutrition ) are also necessary and can be taken either as a pre-requisite prior to matriculation or as a co-requisite in which case this requirement needs to be completed by the end of the first year.

In addition, all applicants must attend an interview with the Dean of Studies, after all documents and fees have been received. Applicants will be notified in writing of their admission status.

TRANSFERS
Students transferring from equivalent professional programs must, in addition to the above requirements, submit official transcripts from the professional program(s) they attended, which will include an oral and/or written examination in which they must correctly answer four out of five questions pertaining to acupuncture appropriate to their level of study.
